Etobicoke Boys Squirt Champs

It is nice to see the photographer sponsoring a team, a Champion team at that. By the looks of fashion styles and two of the boys with Buddy Holly glasses, I think this picture was from early 60’s. This may also be a Peewee team not Squirts. The Sponsor was located at 836 Brown’s Line.

Glen came by the park to watch a game or two every week or weekends. We had many chats from old to new to the type of trees in the park. He played in alderwood in 1960 at the age of 14 and won a championship, he since donated his team shirt to us. Thanks Glenn for being part of Alderwood Softball for over 60 years.

Chris Knox, in Mississauga, was my neighbour growing up in Alderwood on Beta Street. His father, Chris Knox senior, was an umpire in Alderwood softball. Here is a photo of his counter that he used over those many years.
